Kids Expo 2020- Canceled

Saturday, October 3, 2020 – Canceled

SEE YOU NEXT YEAR – October 2, 2021

On behalf of Dubuque County Early Childhood (DCEC) and the Kids Expo-Dubuque County Planning Team, we would like to THANK YOU for your continued support of Kids Expo-Dubuque County. Your support allows us to bring together a variety of organizations and businesses that provide services and programs for area children and families.

DCEC’s vision is that, “All children in Dubuque County are healthy and successful.” The Kids Expo Planning Team strives to provide an event that is fun and safe for the whole family and that allows families free access to many activities to assist with achieving this vision. We know that this event provides valuable resources for families in our community and plays an instrumental role in helping keep children healthy.

We look forward to this event every year and this year was no different. Like many of you, we have been keeping a close eye on the current health situation in our state and the guidelines provided by Governor Reynolds and the Iowa Department of Public Health. With that being said, our vision remains the same. During these challenging and uncertain times, we want to do our part to ensure that children remain healthy and successful. Therefore, it is with deep sadness that we share with you that we have made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s Kids Expo that was to be held on October 3rd. We do not believe that we could successfully hold an event of this nature and meet social distancing requirements that may remain in place and do not want to put anyone at risk for illness. We will miss seeing all of those smiling faces, but the health and well-being of our community is our main priority.

We do, however, look forward to continuing to collaborate with you in a different way this year. We are in the process of making plans to engage families virtually over the next several months to provide resources and activities that families can do together safely. As part of our virtual plan, we may reach out to you for assistance. We also want to showcase your support for Kids Expo just as we have done during our live events in the past. We are excited about the opportunity to still reach families and to support our vision! If we all work together, this vision can become a reality!

Our hope for all of you as we navigate through these uncharted waters is that you and your families remain healthy and safe until we can gather together again. Kids Expo will be back and better than ever in 2021 thanks to the ongoing support from this amazing community and businesses like yours! We can’t wait to see you!
